Mill Run

Mill Run is mentioned in the very first story about ThreaWorld, The Gatekeeper.

Mill Run is a walled town in the middle of an unknown expanse.

As its name suggests, it started out as a few houses surrounding a mill built along a fast section of an as yet unnamed river that runs through an as yet unnamed plain.  It also happens that an as yet unnamed road ran close by, so the town quickly became a logical way station for crossing the expanse.

Mill Run remains a relatively small town, with no more than few hundred people living in it.  They are mostly farmers, herders, hunters and fisherman who subsist by planting the cultivatable land along the river above and below the town.  It has one Inn, a blacksmith, a carpenter’s shop, a tanner, and a butcher.

It also has a temple, and the Priest competes regularly with the Mayor for power over the people of the town.
